I'm really happy/surprised right now, I remember playing this game's demo years ago, on some random site, and I also remember asking my father if I could buy the whole thing on steam.
I didn't buy the game back then, and forgot about it, even tho I really wanted to play it again, I'm so happy to find this thing in here after so many years XD
Everything that is amazing about this game has already been said in another comment, so i'm just going to say that this is one of my favorite games ever! And I only played the demo. I can tell you put months and months into this game, (even with only playing the demo), and really appreciate you for it.
This is more of a review than a comment, so sorry for the length. I had gotten this game a while ago in a large bundle a while ago and not really noticed it, but it's a real gem. I started it without reading the description, so I was expecting a smallish survival resource-gathering game, but every time I thought I was coming up to a wall, I was actually coming up to a cliff. Perhaps you'd need to be in a similar frame of mind to have the experience I did, but I thought the game was simply incredible. There were a couple of really surprising moments that introduced things that changed the entire way I was playing the game. I started playing Aground about two weeks ago, and after running out the quest log, I've put about 85 hours into it. This game basically ate up all of my free time, and I don't regret it at all. Again, absolute gem of a game.
Hey, I tried making an aground cloud account for my brother but no matter what I did aground wouldn't send me any emails for verification at all, any advice/help?
The emails are slow to send right now - I'm working to switch to a different service, but for now you just have to be patient (they usually arrive in a day or two).
Hey, I switched to Archlinux a few months ago and recently picked up Aground, but I was having issues with importing and exporting. I quickly went around importing by dropping the save files into Aground, but now i have no idea how to export it. The instructions on the download page don't work for Archlinux since the AUR doesn't have these packages. Do you know of a solution for this? If not, I would like to know an alternate way to back up my files (other than using Aground Cloud since I would like some flexibility with my saves), or for perhaps to just export the save into the Downloads folder automatically without needing a file dialog. (I wouldn't want to mess with the Windows version in Wine or anything, of course.)
If the libraries needed to bring up a file chooser to export the save doesn't exist, your only option (outside of cloud saves) is to manually back up copies of saves.sol in ~/.local/share/Fancy Fish Games/Aground/aground
I came up with a workaround (though it needs a Windows or Mac computer). After copying the saves.sol file to a Windows or Mac computer that has Aground, I can export the files from there. (I have a network drive as well so it wouldn't be much hassle to do.) Since this is one of the only games I come back to from time to time nowadays (due to its unique gameplay style), I do end up exporting and importing these saves a lot. But thanks!
For some reason when i equip the Magic Backpack, the flying animation for the dragon wings don't work or the dragon flying animation only works with the shadow-fur-made cape (at least for the demo, i'm not sure the same thing happens in the purchased game). Is this a bug or did you do that on purpose?
Both versions are on itch.io - the web version and free demo download are the demo, but there's also a full version download available for those who purchase the game.
That is piracy - please don't ask, and anyone who supplies a pirate link here will be banned. Aground took over 3 years to make, and asking for it for free feels like you don't respect the time and effort I put into making the game.
I remember playing the first three islands on Kongregate back in 2018. I thought it was perfect then, but somehow it's become a million times better. The whole vibe of how magic works in this game is ,like, my favorite thing ever. and the way you can combine it with technology? Legit, before I first played this game I used to complain that there weren't any good stories that really combined fantasy and scifi and made it feel like both.
use wather guns, arrows, sword or axe by using this command
player.addItem ("magic_box") <----- use wisely and use this command here for (k in player.getInfo().getSkills()) player.skills.set (k,99) <---- again use wisely
I know that, because I completed the demo-it took me 3 days and 4 something hours!!! At the end of the demo you find out about the others planets and Unoiks 428 or something like that. Then it shows you the credits. I was really sad because I wanted to play the rest of the game. I'm only 10 so I could not buy the full game. I wish it was free, although great game!!!😄
You can still get a pet dragon - you just have to raise one. Talk to the alchemist and complete his quests, and take note of what he says about feeding the wyrms in the wyrm pen.
If you have version 2.1.1b (you'll see the version number on the title screen), then you have the latest version (and we're not currently planning any future content updates). If not, go to your downloads page on itch.io and you'll find the latest version there (it should auto-update if you're using the itch.io client, otherwise you have to re-download the update manually).
The following reply is from my own observations, and nothing the developers have said. Sadly, Aground can't be made free. That's not to say it may never happen, Fancy Fish Games has grown a lot since it's initial beta of Aground, back in 2018. Since then they have taken on a pretty big workload, including Aground Zero, which you can view additional information on Steam. If Aground was free, there would be no income to pay rent or the programmers or other overhead costs that make these games possible. This is why my review site always buys the titles we give away, to help support the developers.
Speaking of my review site, were working on a huge server overhaul, and have plans once we're up again on raffling some of the top multiplayer sandbox titles, such as Aground. When this happens, I suggest entering when we do our draws. Only rule my site has, your not allowed to sell the prizes. They must be used on the account that has won them, and activated immediately. Otherwise they do get revoked and never replaced. My site and raffles are not related nor supported by Fancy Fish Games in any way.
Previously I had logged in to the mods section of the game with a mod.io account, then I logged out, but the mod list was still there, I tried deleting the game and then reinstalling the mod, it's still there, the mods folder doesn't even have any mod files, how about how to remove it?

The emails are slow to send right now - I'm working to switch to a different service, but for now you just have to be patient (they usually arrive in a day or two).
If you still haven't received an email, try resending it now - it should be much faster (switched the mail provider).

No. We spent over 3 years working hard on Aground, and we have no plans to give it away for free.

Both versions are on itch.io - the web version and free demo download are the demo, but there's also a full version download available for those who purchase the game.

yup if you don't respect go play other game
i remember playing this in the early covid times, I absolutely loved it, this is much a massive demo, the best browser game!

i killed the kitchen guy by not letting him in so i had to buy the kitchen blueprints
Deserved, ngl.
how do you kill the dragon?
nevermind i used the shotgun and ran
use wather guns, arrows, sword or axe by using this command
player.addItem ("magic_b
ox") <----- use wisely and use this command here for (k in player.getInfo().getSkills()) player.skills.set (k,99) <---- again use wiselywhat is the difference between the paid version and the free version
The free version is the demo - it includes the first 3 islands. The paid version has a lot more content (about 4x the length), and multiplayer.
I know that, because I completed the demo-it took me 3 days and 4 something hours!!! At the end of the demo you find out about the others planets and Unoiks 428 or something like that. I think you have to be 13+ to have an account....
Probably.
can i get my money back i bought this a year ago
Probably not
did you beat it?
Hey How do you get the blueprint for the Wrym pen
Give the alchemist the dragonblood, just follow the alchemist's quests and you'll get two
get two wyrm (alive) using a net the wyrm has to be with half hp
how do you get pet dragean
Same question. I don't know how to and I killed the dragon.
You get a fire thingy-it looks like a round fire like ball with flames on the top. Oh! An Fire Gem.
You can still get a pet dragon - you just have to raise one. Talk to the alchemist and complete his quests, and take note of what he says about feeding the wyrms in the wyrm pen.
I did, I completed the wyrm pen quest.
Oh and, how specifically do you raise a dragon?
Feed a wyrm in the cage until it's full - it will turn into a cocoon and eventually become a baby dragon.
If you have version 2.1.1b (you'll see the version number on the title screen), then you have the latest version (and we're not currently planning any future content updates). Look for Aground Zero, coming out sometime later!

The mods used to be in the game folder, but now they are in %APPDATA%\Fancy Fish Games\Aground\.modio - try deleting that folder.
big thanks, it works the mod are removed
